Selection of the Type of Raail (adminssible loads)
Selection of the Type of Rail (admissible loads)
Its presented a table when is showed, for each type of rail and distances between sleppers, the maximun admisble load per wheel in metric tons. These values habe been calculated according to the enclosed formula and the steel quality showed in the table. These steels have a higher resistance than the minimun specified in the specification, so the given values are not valid for other manufacturers.
For data using a formula:
p = Load per wheel (kp). | Pe = Load in Ton Per axle.
Working strain (cm2). | ||
Wx = Resistant Moment (cm3).
L = Distance Between Sleepers (cm). |
The working strain considers the following security coeficients:
Security Coeficient: Elastic Limit Strength / Calculated working Strength: 2.42.
Elastic Coeficiente: Elastic Limit Strength / Tensile Strength at Break: 55%.
